Hebrews 6

  • 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on to perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
  • 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
  • 6:3 And this will we do, if God permit.
  • 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
  • 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
  • 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again to repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
  • 6:7 For the earth which drinks in the rain that comes oft on it, and brings forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receives blessing from God:
  • 6:8 But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is near to cursing; whose end is to be burned.
  • 6:9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
  • 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which you have showed toward his name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
  • 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope to the end:
  • 6:12 That you be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
  • 6:13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he swore by himself,
  • 6:14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.
  • 6:15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
  • 6:16 For men truly swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
  • 6:17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to show to the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
  • 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold on the hope set before us:
  • 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters into that within the veil;
  • 6:20 Where the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 5

  • 5:1 For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
  • 5:2 Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
  • 5:3 And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
  • 5:4 And no man takes this honor to himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
  • 5:5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said to him, You are my Son, to day have I begotten you.
  • 5:6 As he said also in another place, You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
  • 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears to him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
  • 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
  • 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation to all them that obey him;
  • 5:10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
  • 5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing you are dull of hearing.
  • 5:12 For when for the time you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
  • 5:13 For every one that uses milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
  • 5:14 But strong meat belongs to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Hebrews 4

  • 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
  • 4:2 For to us was the gospel preached, as well as to them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
  • 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
  • 4:4 For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
  • 4:5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
  • 4:6 Seeing therefore it remains that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
  • 4:7 Again, he limits a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
  • 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
  • 4:9 There remains therefore a rest to the people of God.
  • 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
  • 4:11 Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
  • 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
  • 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
  • 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
  • 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
  • 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 3

  • 3:1 Why, holy brothers, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
  • 3:2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
  • 3:3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who has built the house has more honor than the house.
  • 3:4 For every house is built by some man; but he that built all things is God.
  • 3:5 And Moses truly was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
  • 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.
  • 3:7 Why (as the Holy Ghost said, To day if you will hear his voice,
  • 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
  • 3:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
  • 3:10 Why I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do always err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
  • 3:11 So I swore in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
  • 3:12 Take heed, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
  • 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
  • 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end;
  • 3:15 While it is said, To day if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
  • 3:16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: however, not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
  • 3:17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness?
  • 3:18 And to whom swore he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
  • 3:19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Hebrews 2

  • 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
  • 2:2 For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward;
  • 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by them that heard him;
  • 2:4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
  • 2:5 For to the angels has he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
  • 2:6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that you are mindful of him? or the son of man that you visit him?
  • 2:7 You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor, and did set him over the works of your hands:
  • 2:8 You have put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him.  But now we see not yet all things put under him.
  • 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
  • 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
  • 2:11 For both he that sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
  • 2:12 Saying, I will declare your name to my brothers, in the middle of the church will I sing praise to you.
  • 2:13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God has given me.
  • 2:14 For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
  • 2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
  • 2:16 For truly he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
  • 2:17 Why in all things it behooved him to be made like to his brothers, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
  • 2:18 For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted.

Hebrews 1

  • 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
  • 1:2 Has in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
  • 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
  • 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
  • 1:5 For to which of the angels said he at any time, You are my Son, this day have I begotten you? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
  • 1:6 And again, when he brings in the first-begotten into the world, he said, And let all the angels of God worship him.
  • 1:7 And of the angels he said, Who makes his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
  • 1:8 But to the Son he said, Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom.
  • 1:9 You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.
  • 1:10 And, You, Lord, in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of your hands:
  • 1:11 They shall perish; but you remain; and they all shall wax old as does a garment;
  • 1:12 And as a clothing shall you fold them up, and they shall be changed: but you are the same, and your years shall not fail.
  • 1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool?
  • 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Philemon 1

  • 1:1 Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellow laborer,
  • 1:2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house:
  • 1:3 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • 1:4 I thank my God, making mention of you always in my prayers,
  • 1:5 Hearing of your love and faith, which you have toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;
  • 1:6 That the communication of your faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
  • 1:7 For we have great joy and consolation in your love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by you, brother.
  • 1:8 Why, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin you that which is convenient,
  • 1:9 Yet for love’s sake I rather beseech you, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.
  • 1:10 I beseech you for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:
  • 1:11 Which in time past was to you unprofitable, but now profitable to you and to me:
  • 1:12 Whom I have sent again: you therefore receive him, that is, my own bowels:
  • 1:13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in your stead he might have ministered to me in the bonds of the gospel:
  • 1:14 But without your mind would I do nothing; that your benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.
  • 1:15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that you should receive him for ever;
  • 1:16 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more to you, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
  • 1:17 If you count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.
  • 1:18 If he has wronged you, or owes you ought, put that on my account;
  • 1:19 I Paul have written it with my own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to you how you owe to me even your own self besides.
  • 1:20 Yes, brother, let me have joy of you in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.
  • 1:21 Having confidence in your obedience I wrote to you, knowing that you will also do more than I say.
  • 1:22 But with prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given to you.
  • 1:23 There salute you Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus;
  • 1:24 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellow laborers.
  • 1:25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

Titus 3

  • 3:1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
  • 3:2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness to all men.
  • 3:3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
  • 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared,
  • 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
  • 3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior;
  • 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
  • 3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that you affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.
  • 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
  • 3:10 A man that is an heretic after the first and second admonition reject;
  • 3:11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sins, being condemned of himself.
  • 3:12 When I shall send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.
  • 3:13 Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting to them.
  • 3:14 And let our’s also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
  • 3:15 All that are with me salute you. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.

Titus 2

  • 2:1 But speak you the things which become sound doctrine:
  • 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
  • 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becomes holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
  • 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
  • 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
  • 2:6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
  • 2:7 In all things showing yourself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing soundness, gravity, sincerity,
  • 2:8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
  • 2:9 Exhort servants to be obedient to their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
  • 2:10 Not purloining, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
  • 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
  • 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
  • 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;
  • 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
  • 2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise you.

Titus 1

  • 1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
  • 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
  • 1:3 But has in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed to me according to the commandment of God our Savior;
  • 1:4 To Titus, my own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.
  • 1:5 For this cause left I you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed you:
  • 1:6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
  • 1:7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
  • 1:8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
  • 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the disputers.
  • 1:10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
  • 1:11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.
  • 1:12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are always liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
  • 1:13 This witness is true. Why rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
  • 1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
  • 1:15 To the pure all things are pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
  • 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and to every good work reprobate.
